These wonderful colourful cards come with their own story on the back. They have been a fixture in Japanese kindergartens and were used by traveling story tellers who would set up on an easel like arrangement in a park and draw a crowd - a bit like Punch and Judy or Mr Whippy. The writing is in Japanese. But this shouldn't slow you down - make up your own story, change the order and invent another story.
You could even do the Edward Gorey thing and make them into a (large - cards are approx. 28 x 38cms) shuffle book.(The 'book' is a small pack of picture cards with no words. You shuffle and have to tell the story.
Don't know Edward Gorey? Well you are missing a real treat - some say an acquired taste, but a very good one.
